Children can be affected by some of the issues covered on our general dental health page.
However, parents should be aware of one condition specific to children.

Early Childhood Tooth Decay
This disease affects children who have near constant access to a bottle containing milk, formula, or juice. Any
bottle given to a child for long periods of time should contain water. Transferring children to a cup as soon as
possible can also help prevent tooth decay. Early decay and cavities can cause many problems and can even seep into
underlying bones, detracting from the development of permanent teeth.
Parents should begin brushing as soon as teeth emerge.
Regular cleanings and exams paired with smart brushing and flossing
habits will help your child maintain a healthy smile. If your child has not been to a dentist in
the last 6 months, please request an appointment
with one of our doctors today!
