When you visit A Center For Dental Health for the first time, you will
experience a comprehensive examination. One of our hygienists will
examine your mouth, clean your teeth, and take a set of x-rays. Then, the dentist will ask you about your medical history and check your x-rays for
signs of decay, oral cancer, and other problems.
Even if you have had regular dental care at another office, our
doctors will want to become familiar with your overall health. This
will enable them to identify any changes or problems in the future.
Make sure you mention all of the following during your discussion:
-
Dental history – past problems, treatments,
surgeries
-
Dental health – your habits, current bothersome or
sensitive areas
-
Overall health – everything, even if you don’t think it
relates to your mouth
-
Medications – current medications and dosages
-
Your fears – many people experience dental-related anxiety.
We want your visit to be stress-free and relaxing, so we offer a variety of calming
services:
-
-
Cozy blankets and neck pillows
-
DVD players (watch one of our movies or
bring your own!)
-
Gentle anesthetics
-
FREE nitrous oxide ("laughing
gas")
-
Following your exam, we will explain your treatment plan. This
will include the doctor's findings and your exam results, your treatment options, and scheduling your
treatment plan. We will also go over your payment options and how much of your treatment your insurance
is willing to cover. During this consultation you will have the opportunity to ask any questions
you have about your treatment plan. Don't be afraid to ask about anything you don't understand!
We want you to be as informed as possible about your treatment.
